Old Yale Road Improvements

Summary

This project will implement traffic control measures along a section of Old Yale Road to increase the safety and visibility of vulnerable road users.

Project Overview

The Township of Langley is implementing traffic control measures along Old Yale Road, which sees traffic volumes and vehicle speeds more than what the local streets were designed for. Traffic generators on this road include the Murrayville Academy Elementary School and Early Learning Centre; this section of road also connects Fraser Highway to Murrayville further increasing traffic volumes.

This project is intended to increase the safety and visibility of vulnerable road users through implementing multiple treatments, including the installation of raised traffic humps, a raised crosswalk with rectangular rapid flashing beacon (RRFB), pavement markings, and signage. The Vision Zero grant will support this work.
