How do I write an impactful grant application for this Grant Program?

We are looking for well thoughtout, concise applications that outline how the specific project activities will reduce road-related injuries in your community. Where possible, we encourage you to use local data to support your project proposal and highlight how you will measure success. A strong application will outline partnerships and stakeholders, align with Vision Zero and Safe System principles, and provide a clear breakdown and justification for the proposed budget.

Please review our Scoring Guide for more information on how applications will be scored.

What health authority am I located in?

The province of British Columbia is divided into five health authorities: Interior, Northern, Fraser, Vancouver Coastal, and Island Health (from west to east) to meet the needs of the communities within their respective geographic regions. Please refer to the Health Boundary Map or the Regional Health Authorities List when determining where you and your project are located.

My project spans across multiple health authorities, how do I answer the "Category" field in the application form?

Please contact the BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit to be connected with one of our grant leads. We will work with you and determine on a case-by-case basis, the health authority best suited for your application.

Can I submit applications for multiple projects?

Yes, applicants may submit up to three (3) applications for this grant intake. If submitting more than one, please indicate your priority projects in your application.

Additional application forms can be requested on the main page after logging into the applicant portal (an account must be created first).

I would like to submit my grant application as a video submission, how do I do that?

We welcome applications in text or an alternative format, including videos, audio files, PowerPoint presentations, etc. If you would like to submit through alternative means, please contact the BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit for instructions to do so. All applications, regardless of what format they are submitted in, will be adjudicated the same way.
