Making Pathways Towards Pedestrian Safety AND Making Road Safer in Core Area

Summary

The first project aims to improve pedestrian safety in a high-traffic area by enhancing visibility and awareness for all road users. Our plan includes installing additional LED lighting near the community hall, school, and park to improve nighttime safety. We will also create designated pick-up and drop-off zones marked with high-reflective paint to organize traffic flow and reduce congestion.

To further increase awareness of pedestrians, including elders, children, and cyclists, we will implement tools such as event notifications and both permanent and semi-permanent barriers. Additionally, new signage with blinking lights will be installed on both sides of the road to alert drivers and enhance overall road safety.

The second project aims to improve pedestrian safety in a high-traffic area of Bella Bella, BC, by constructing a dedicated walkway along Wablisla Street. The proposed walkway will span 1,000 feet between the Elders Centre and the new Band Office, providing a safer route for pedestrians and other vulnerable road users.
