The Klemtu Driver Training Project addressed road safety challenges in this remote Indigenous community by providing accessible driver education. With the nearest training 12 hours away by ferry in Port Hardy, many residents face barriers to obtaining a license, limiting mobility and opportunities.
This project enhanced road safety, empowered residents—especially youth—and improved access to jobs, education, and essential services. By investing in driver training, Klemtu strengthened long-term community development, economic stability, and overall well-being.
